Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- Mustard
Instructions:
Add the chopped mushrooms, onions, and garlic to a skillet
Cook over medium-low heat until the mushrooms are soft and the liquid has evaporated
I think this will take 8 to 10 minutes
Add pepper and salt, then set it aside to cool
Put the ground beef and the cooled mushroom mixture in a bowl and mix them together
Mix everything together well
Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty
Warm up your grill or pan on the stove by setting it on medium-high heat
Grill or cook the burger patties until they're done the way you like them
For medium-rare, they usually need about 4 to 5 minutes on each side
Put a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking and let it melt
You can grill or toast the burger buns until they are just barely browned
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun before putting the Forestiere burgers together
After the mayonnaise, put a lettuce leaf on top of it and then a tomato slice
If you want, you can add ketchup and mustard after the cooked patty is on top of the tomato
Put the other half of the bun on top, and your Forestiere Burger is ready to eat!
