Wonton Nachos

A crispy and flavorful take on classic nachos are wonton nachos. Perfectly cooked wonton wrappers are topped with a medley of fresh toppings, cheese, and spiced ground beef (or turkey). Ideal as a tasty snack or for game day!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeos optional
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F

Brown the ground beef or turkey in a big skillet over medium heat

After removing any extra fat, mix in the taco seasoning

Put aside

Like tortilla chips, cut the wonton wrappers into triangles

Heat up enough cooking oil in a pot or deep frying pan to completely submerge the wonton wrappers

The wonton triangles should be fried in batches until they are crispy and golden

Take out and let dry on paper towels

Place the fried wonton triangles as the bottom layer on a baking sheet or platter that is safe to use in the oven

Evenly distribute the cooked ground turkey or beef over the wonton chips

Over the meat, scatter shredded cheddar cheese

Top the cheese with chopped bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeos if using

For about five to seven minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the nachos are thoroughly heated, place the nachos in the preheated oven

Take out of the oven and cover with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream

To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning

If desired, garnish with more jalapeos or your preferred toppings

Enjoy your delectable wonton nachos while they're hot!
